During the Top 20 selection, contestants in the 'Masked Beauty Hong Kong' pageant had to present on their derriere and use their feet to insert fruit for the judges.
Recently, alongside the 'Miss Hong Kong' pageant, another beauty contest gaining attention in the Fragrant Harbor (China) is the 21st edition of the 'Masked Beauty Hong Kong' pageant. The competition is organized as a reality TV show, broadcast on ViuTV.
One notable difference in the 'Masked Beauty Hong Kong' pageant compared to others is that both contestants and judges must wear masks throughout the filming process.

In the latest episode airing on August 18th (local time), the judges selected the Top 20 from the 50 contestants who had passed the previous rounds. In this round, the beauties were required to showcase their most confident body parts, specifically focusing on their derriere and toes.
First, the organizers will air a short video clip showing contestants introducing their derriere. In the video, the girls wear crop-tops or bras to reveal their midriffs. Interestingly, male judges have the right to use virtual reality (VR) glasses to 'examine' the contestants' derrieres more closely. Subsequently, each girl will take the stage to elaborate on the aesthetic aspects of this central part of their bodies.

In the beautiful toes segment, male judges were not only visually evaluating but also touching and massaging the contestants' feet. Taking it a step further, participants were required to use their feet to present fruit to the judges.

Immediately after airing, this television show became a hotly debated topic on Chinese social media. The majority criticized the organizers for creating a pointless and obscene competition, filled with suggestive elements and lacking respect for women.
This is not the first time the audience has been shocked by 'Masked Beauty Hong Kong.' In a previous episode selecting the Top 50, a contestant inserted two oranges into her chest to perform a drumming act. She even undressed on stage and performed provocative moves. Remarkably, the judges allowed her to advance to the next round.

Currently, the organizers and ViuTV have not responded to the negative reviews of the competition from the online community.
