Regularly processing and calculating data with Excel spreadsheets, especially for currency-related data, often requires converting numbers into words. Manually inputting words from numbers is impractical for large and accuracy-demanding datasets. Install vnTools software to swiftly and effectively convert numbers into words.
This article provides guidance on how to convert numbers into words in Excel 2010 using vnTools software. The procedures for Excel 2007 and Excel 2013 are similar.
Step 1: Download and install vnTools software onto your system.

Step 2: Add the Add-in to Excel.
1. In Excel's toolbar, select File -> Options.
2. On the left menu of Excel Options, choose Add-ins.

1. Convert numbers into words in Vietnamese.
Select the cell containing the number you want to convert, then in the vnTools tab, choose Convert Numbers to Words (VN).
A dialog box Number to Text (VN) appears. Choose the unit in Main Unit, then click on the minus symbol in the Result Cell section.
Afterward, a small dialog box appears. Select the cell where you want to display the result in Excel and click on the symbol in the dialog box.
The full dialog box of Number to Text (VN) appears. Select VND().

You perform similar steps as converting to words in Vietnamese, but instead of selecting vnTools -> Convert Numbers to Words (VN), you choose vnTools -> Convert Numbers to Words (EN).

=VND(number, true): convert numbers to words in Vietnamese with 'đồng' at the end.
