LMHT players once had wonderful experiences with the winter version of Summoner's Rift, where Riot covered the entire map with a layer of white snow, accompanied by adorable snow-themed soldiers and a festive Baron. However, Riot has yet to bring back this map, leaving many players nostalgic for the unique atmosphere it provided in the late months of the year.

The question of the winter map arises once again in the late stages of the 2023 season. Earlier, Riot teased surprises around the Dong Chi period (around late December) when a Twitter post hinted at the return of the winter map. Many players are eagerly anticipating Riot bringing back this map soon, especially with the imminent return of the Dominion mode and the reasonable timing for introducing new map effects to players.

The last time Riot mentioned this theme was three years ago, stating that the winter map required more effort to deploy. However, at present, Riot's resources have significantly improved compared to before, and introducing the winter map in LMHT should not pose a challenge for the game development team. Nevertheless, players are still somewhat in the dark about whether Riot will reintroduce the winter map in the near future.
