Currently, Apple's Magsafe portable charger is one of the most counterfeited accessories on the market. The latest images, shared on X (formerly Twitter) and Weibo, reveal this accessory using a USB-C charging port.
Counterfeit Magsafe portable charger using USB-C portNumerous reports have surfaced recently indicating that Apple will transition to using USB-C for its iPhones and AirPods this year. In the near future, the company will gradually phase out the Lightning port in its products, and it appears that the MagSafe Battery Pack is among them.
In the latest episode of The MacRumors Show podcast, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg stated that Apple is working on transitioning to USB-C for its accessory lineup next year, potentially including the MagSafe Battery Pack. The transition process is expected to be relatively quick.
Gurman states: “They'll need to create a new MagSafe Duo with USB-C,” and Apple “can certainly update the MagSafe Battery Pack” to include USB-C. However, it's highly likely these accessories will only debut next year. Let's wait and see!
