Compose a short fable narrative, Grade 7 - Language Arts
Prompt: You have learned and read about fables. Undoubtedly, many stories have left a profound impression on you, as the lessons drawn from them are relatable and practical. Narrate a fable, elucidate its meaning, and share your emotions.
Allow me to share an allegorical tale with you, dear audience. I present to you the story of 'The Wind and The Sun.' Please pay close attention!
The narrative unfolds during a heated argument between the Wind and the Sun, each boasting their superiority over the other. A passerby becomes the unwitting participant as they decide to settle the dispute by challenging each other to make the person remove their coat first. The contender who succeeds will prove their might.
The competition commences with the Wind taking the initial initiative, vigorously blowing with all its might. Gusts of wind relentlessly assault the pedestrian, who, in response, clings tightly to their coat. Unperturbed, the Sun gracefully sends down warm, soothing rays, embracing and comforting the walker. This gentle approach prompts the person to comfortably shed their outer garment, declaring the Sun the victor.
From this fable, a valuable lesson emerges - violence is not the solution to problems. Maintaining composure and addressing issues intelligently is crucial. In reality, if we wish to influence others positively, we must utilize our calm demeanor, intellect, and warmth instead of resorting to aggression. The story serves as a metaphor, illustrating that goodness and love triumph over cruelty and brutality.
This story, although short, is incredibly concise. The author skillfully employs familiar and relatable imagery, making the lesson easily accessible to readers. Today, I want to share the fable of the Wind and the Sun with all of you. I hope the entire class will enjoy it as much as I do!
