Lesson on 'Two Hands of Mine,' Reading Section
Two Hands of Mine
(Excerpt)
Two hands of mine
Like flowers at the top of a branch
Rose-colored buds
Round petals and delicate fingers.
At night, while I sleep
Two flowers sleep together
One near my cheek
The other nestled close to my heart.
My hands brush my teeth
Teeth as white as jasmine flowers.
My hands comb my hair
Hair gleaming like the morning sun.
Now, as I sit to study
My hands are diligent
Blossoming flowers on paper
Rows unfolding gracefully.
Sometimes, alone
I gaze at my hands whispering
I love you, I cherish you
My two hands.
- Diligent: industrious and hardworking.
- Unfolding gracefully: spreading out smoothly horizontally.
