I. Observation, Imagination, Comparison, and Commentary in Descriptive Writing
Question 1:
Describe the prominent features of the object and scenery depicted in the following passages:
Passage 1: Skinny, frail, and pitiful Mr. Cricket
Passage 2: Idyllic and beautiful scenery of the rivers in Cà Mau
Passage 3: The vibrant spring scenery, bustling like a festival day
To craft such descriptive sentences, the writer needs keen observation, vivid imagination, and a delicately stirred soul
Sentence containing imagery:
Like spider webs, like frog swimmers, like two endless rows of maturity
Like a giant lighthouse, with thousands of green candles
The unique simile imagery lies in the specificity of each described image, leaving a lasting impression on the reader

Words omitted from the passage: vast, humid, like a waterfall, rising and falling like frog swimmers, ….
Omitting those words deprives the sentences of verbs, adjectives, comparisons, associations, making the passage less smooth, flowing, and vivid.
