Guidance:
I. PREPARATION AT HOME
Textbooks present 4 topics for students to prepare at home, then speak in front of the class. Students can choose their favorite topic, expressing emotions about people (teachers, classmates) or objects (books, gifts). However, they should also be prepared with other topics (in outline form) to provide input to classmates while practicing more themselves. Preparation at home consists of 2 parts:
- Creating an outline for the chosen topic.
- Practicing speaking based on the outline.
The outline must be clear, logical, and seamless to facilitate easy and fluent speaking. This is expressive writing about objects and people, not narration or description of them. People and objects serve to evoke emotions, feelings, and thoughts. However, expressing thoughts cannot be general or direct; it also requires indirect expression through the objects or people. Therefore, students need to pay attention to self-disclosure and description to express their thoughts. It is essential to utilize reminiscence, imagination, association, various forms of comparison, metaphors, and exclamations for expression.
