Exercise creating ideas for expressive writing based on the following topics:
a) Emotions about the home garden
b) Emotions about a pet (cow, dog, cat, ...)
c) Emotions about family members
d) Emotions about beloved school environment
- All four topics are familiar and intimate to the students. However, it is advisable to choose a topic that evokes the most emotions (with many memories, connections, relationships, thus generating many feelings towards the subject).
- Once the topic is chosen, students should contemplate on it to develop ideas for their expressive writing.
Example: If choosing the Emotions about the home garden topic, one could develop ideas as follows:
