Crafting the Tale: Whose Doll Is It, Short 1
Question 1 (page 138 Vietnamese 4 textbook): Based on the teacher's narration, explain the illustrations below:
Answer:
Nga is a playful and easily bored girl. One summer, she insisted her mom buy her a quite beautiful doll. However, after playing for a short while, Nga left the doll on the top shelf with other toys, gathering dust.
The weather turned bitterly cold, and the doll had only one unique pair of underwear. Nga, in her mischievous play, had stripped the doll's dress off and tossed it somewhere unknown. One night, feeling too cold, the doll sobbed softly. Lật Đật, snoozing in her rotation, woke up and asked:
- Why are you crying?
- I don't have clothes. I'm so cold. And you, lucky that your hat and clothes are attached to you, Nga can't take them off.
- She's awful - Lật Đật muttered - She makes us her playthings but never pays attention to us.
The doll nuzzled:
- I don't want to live with her anymore. I'm leaving.
Question 2 (page 138 Vietnamese 4 textbook): Retell the story from the doll's perspective.
Answer:
In an instant, the doll slipped from the shelf, tried to climb the wall, squeezed through the ventilation hole in the door, and leaped onto the street. Lật Đật called out, but in vain. She called Nga. But Nga was still deeply asleep under her blanket. Lật Đật regretted being round and legless. If she had legs, she would have left too.
The next morning, after seven, Nga woke up. Looking toward the shelf, she found it empty. Nga exclaimed, 'Who took my doll?' Mom told Nga to diligently search in the corner of the shelf and under the bed. Reluctantly, Nga followed. But where else could she find the doll!
Question 3 (page 138 Vietnamese 4 textbook): Narrate the conclusion of the story with the situation: the previous owner reunites with the doll in the hands of the new owner.
Answer:
Escaping into the night, the doll joyfully ran across the street. However, in the cold dark night, unable to go further, the doll sought refuge under a large tree, nestled among dry leaves swept there to escape the cold. The next morning, a passing girl spotted the doll in the pile of leaves, exclaiming:
