Create a Windows 10 Installation USB on Mac OS X using Boot Camp Assistant
After successfully downloading the Windows 10 ISO file, you'll need the assistance of Boot Camp Assistant to transfer the file to a Bootable USB.
Step 1: Plug the USB flash drive into your Mac.
Note: The USB drive should have a minimum capacity of 8GB. Usually, the capacity is indicated on the USB drive when purchased. Alternatively, you can check the USB drive's capacity by right-clicking on the USB drive on the desktop, selecting Get Info. Check under the Capacity section for the USB drive's storage.
Back up and transfer all files and data from the USB drive to another location.
Step 2: Open Boot Camp Assistant. The quickest way to do this is by using Spotlight Search. Press the Command + Spacebar combination to open Spotlight Search, then type Boot Camp Assistant and press Enter to open the application.
Step 3: Check the option for Create a Windows 7 or later version install disk and uncheck Install Windows 7 or later version.
Step 4: Click Continue to proceed.
Step 5: Boot Camp Assistant will automatically search for the ISO file in your Downloads folder, but make sure to locate the correct file. Click Choose… and find your ISO file.
Step 6: Click Continue. The process will take approximately 20 minutes to format and set up the USB installation drive on your Mac.
Step 7: After Boot Camp Assistant completes the process, the USB drive will be renamed to WININSTALL. Click Quit to close the application, then eject your USB drive.
