Apple Music provides subscribers with a variety of radio station options, including the globally acclaimed 'The Apple Music 1' live radio, proclaimed by Apple as the 'World's Largest Radio Station'. However, if none of the existing stations suit your taste, you can choose to create your very own personalized radio station. Listen to Default Apple Music Radio Stations
To automatically tune in to default Apple Music radio stations on your iPhone/iPad:
- Open the Music app on your device.
- From the bottom menu, choose the “Radio” tab.
- Scroll through the list of existing stations and listen to anything that catches your fancy.
To listen to a radio station on your Mac:
- Open the Music app on your Mac. (For Macs running macOS Catalina or earlier, open the iTunes app.)
- On the left side of the app, select Radio.
- Move and select a channel to listen to.
Creating Your Own Apple Music Radio Station
You can craft a radio station based on your favorite artists or songs. Apple Music will automatically find other similar songs/artists and add them to your radio station.
On iPhone/iPad
- In the Music app, play a song or artist of your choice. This could be from music downloaded to your device (via Apple Music) or streamed directly from a service.
- Tap on the currently playing song's title to enlarge it to full screen.
- On the song screen, click on the three dots to reveal the extended menu.
- Select “Create Playlist”.
- To create a radio station for an artist, open the artist's page, click the three dots, and choose “Create Station”.
- Go to the Radio tab, and you'll find a newly created radio station.
On Mac
- In the Music app, choose a song or artist to create a Radio station.
- Click on the three dots and select “Create Station”
- The station will automatically start playing, and you'll see it in the Radio tab with the initially chosen tracks.
Add Songs to Your Radio
Customize your radio station and add new music to it easily through the Apple Music app. This involves marking 'favorite' songs that align with your preferences, and Apple Music will automatically update your radio.
On your iPhone/iPad:
- In the Apple Music app, play a song you like. It can be from your library or any random radio station.
- Tap on the three dots to open the extended menu.
- Scroll down the menu and press “Favorite”.
On your Mac:
- In the Music app, select a music track you love and want to add to your playlist.
- Click on the three dots next to the track and click on “Love”.
Apple Music will automatically discover songs similar to the ones you ‘love’ and add them to your customized radio station.
