'Wow! You smell great... what's your fragrance?' No, it's not Armani... I think to myself, as that question has been asked many times before. I simply reply, 'I'm not sure, it could be this blue bottle from home. I don't know the name though.' With a smile, I know they're smelling... a fresh man!
Steps
Start with flossing and brushing your teeth. (Optional mouthwash)
Step into the shower. Begin by washing and rinsing your hair, then dampen your washcloth (not a reusable sponge) to cleanse your face. This prevents open pores when you rinse your hair, reducing the risk of soap-induced breakouts.
Apply a generous amount of body wash onto your washcloth and lather it over your chest, arms, armpits, groin, buttocks, legs, and feet as the final step.
Rinse and thoroughly dry yourself, paying attention to the areas between your toes to prevent athlete's foot. If you're active daily and your shoes don't breathe well, consider dusting a bit of powder on your toes. Feet tend to sweat, creating moisture and dark environments that can lead to fungal growth and itchiness.
Trim and groom your beard for a neat appearance. Use a beard trimmer for precision, including between the eyebrows if needed. Avoid a unibrow, even if it's barely visible. Finish with your preferred aftershave or skin creams.
Clean your ears with Q-tips for better hearing and to keep them dry.
Use deodorant that doesn't crumble or ball up under your shirt throughout the day. Consider antiperspirant with deodorant to avoid yellow stains on shirts, or use a separate strong deodorant. Occasionally bleach white shirts to remove yellow stains caused by sweat.
Choose the right styling product based on your hair type, such as wax, paste, or gel. Having a variety allows you to keep your hair styled perfectly according to your preference. Experimenting with different products tailored to your hair type can make a significant difference in achieving your desired look.
You can never have too many colognes! Limit yourself to five sprays maximum: two on the wrists rubbed together, one on each side of the neckline, and a final one on the outside of your shirt. Rotate your scents regularly to prevent becoming desensitized to a particular fragrance. Over-spraying due to desensitization can be unpleasant for others. Keep your scent fresh by changing it up periodically!
Tips
- Apply moisturizing cream to your elbows, knees, and hands.
- Maintain your grooming routine consistently to save time and prevent forgetting essential steps.
- Avoid using powder inside leather shoes as it can become sticky or sweat, affecting the shoe's soles.
