Simple Method to Generate a Virtual Gmail
Method 1: Using Tricks to Customize Gmail
To create a virtual Gmail account, we will use tricks to customize our existing account.
Step 1: Let's say your email address is '[email protected]'. When prompted to enter your email on a service or website where you don't want to use your main address, simply add a specific tag to your email, like '[email protected]', or '[email protected]' as shown in the screenshot below.
All emails sent to this new address will appear in your inbox.
Step 2: The next step in creating a Gmail is to set up an automatic Gmail filter to delete emails sent from the created virtual email address. To do this, enter the specific tag in the Search box at the top of your inbox, then click the arrow icon on the top right. Add the tag to the From field in the filter window, then click Create filter.
Step 3: On the next window, check the box next to Delete it, then click Create filter. From now on, emails sent to the virtual Gmail address you created will no longer appear in your inbox.
Method 2: Use Burner Mail to Generate a Virtual Gmail
Another way to create a virtual Gmail account is by using the Burner Mail browser extension. Follow the steps below:
Step 1: Visit the Burner Mail website and select Install Burner Mail for Chrome. You will be redirected to the Chrome Web Store; here, click Add to Chrome to add the extension to your browser.
Download and install Burner Mail on your device from this link.
Note: You need to log in to your Google account during the process.
Step 2: When you access a website requesting your email, simply hover over the box, and you'll see the Burner Mail icon – a small flame symbol and an automatically generated virtual email address. Select this email, and the newly created address will be added to the box.
All emails sent to the recently generated virtual address will appear in your inbox.
Step 3: If you don't want to receive emails from the new address, all you have to do is select the Burn Mail icon, view all created addresses, hover over the Block sender option, and a toggle switch will appear on the screen.
Simply turn off or disable the email address to block emails sent to that address.
Besides Burner Mail, you can use other services like Mailinator or 10 Minute Mail to create virtual Gmail addresses. Mailinator allows you to create disposable email addresses and automatically delete them after a few hours. If you generate a virtual email address on 10 Minute Mail, it will default to being deleted after 10 minutes.
