Important:
To draw circles in Photoshop as per our guide, we recommend downloading the latest Photoshop CC 2020 and CS6 versions available here:
Step 1: Start by creating a new file with dimensions of 250 x 250, typically square-shaped which is most common and easiest for logo design.
Step 2: Next, select the Background and Foreground color squares and pick the following colors.
Choose #82B2E0 for the Background and #012B62 for the Foreground, then click OK.
Step 3: Then, use the Elliptical Marquee Tool to draw a circular shape for the logo.
Step 4: To draw, click and drag from the top corner downwards, ensuring to hold Shift for a perfectly even circle.
Step 5: Once you have a circle, press G and drag a straight line downwards.
Step 6: Next, draw a smaller circle behind the first, right-click it, and select Stroke.
Choose 10px for the Stroke value, with a white background.
Step 7: By now, your Photoshop logo is 50% complete. Use the Polygonal Lasso Tool to draw your desired letter, such as V.
Use the Ruler for alignment if unsure about your lettering; it won't affect the final file output.
Step 8: Proceed to Edit > choose Fill from the menu.
For Fill, select the usual value or adjust it back to 100% as shown below.
At this point, your Photoshop logo creation is 70% complete. The next step is to polish your logo.
Step 9: In the Layer panel, right-click and choose Blending Options.
Step 10: First, work with the Drop Shadow value, ensuring adjustments match the illustration.
Next, adjust the Inner Shadow value for inner shading.
For the Gradient, ensure to select the Gradient type and check the parameters as shown.
In the Gradient section, remember to choose transparent color options.
Step 11: Once you've completed the editing steps, creating a logo in Photoshop is finished.
Note to export the logo without a background, select the PNG format.
The result after creating a logo in Photoshop will look like this.
