Step 1: The image below displays the MuseScore software interface after installation. The software is relatively lightweight, installation is quick, and there is no additional bundled software.
Step 2: In the Startup Center as shown below -> click on the plus icon (+) to create a new musical score (Create New Score).
Step 3: On the interface of the New Score Wizard -> input the song title at (Title), the song subtitle at (Subtitle ) Title, the composer at (Composer) Composer, the lyricist at (Lyricist) Lyricist, the copyright at (Copyright) Copyright -> then press Next below to continue.
Step 4: Next, you will see various sample music types for you to choose to create a new score -> select one of these templates -> then press Next to continue.
Step 5: Appear on the interface of musical notation and tempo -> choose any template and then press Next.
Step 6: On this interface, you can create the starting beat number. If your music starts with a pickup measure, tick the Pickup Measure box -> then adjust the number of beats at Enter Time Signature -> fill in the number of beats at Enter Number of Measure. You can later change the number of beats if you wish.
Once everything is set and you've filled in the details -> press Finish to create the new musical score.
Step 7: An interface will appear to create a new musical score. Here, you will see the number of beats and the beat number you entered earlier.
Step 8: Next, input musical notes into the staff. Press the N key on the interface.
Step 9: Continue selecting the note duration in the toolbar -> then click on the pitch position on the staff where you want to input the note. Press the Esc key to finish or if you want to temporarily pause the input process.
If you wish to make changes, click on Edit to adjust the items in the list. The image below shows the list of settings for you to customize for your music.
Step 10: The creation process is complete. Click on File -> then select Save or press the shortcut Ctrl + S to save your musical score.
Choose the folder to store the musical score -> then you can rename the new musical score -> then press Save to save it.
