Instead of repeating the monotonous task of clicking Menu Start --> Shutdown or Restart, you no longer need to do that. Create your own icon specifically for the Shutdown function and another one for Restart, placing them outside the Desktop screen.
Creating Shutdown/Restart Icons Beyond the Desktop
Step 1: Right-click on any empty space on the Desktop, choose New --> Shortcut.
Step 2: The
- shutdown -s -t 60 if you want to create a Shutdown icon
- shutdown -r -t 60 if you want to create a Restart icon.
In this, 60 symbolizes the wait time; therefore, if you want the computer to automatically shutdown after 1 hour, enter the code shutdown -s -t 3600 ( 60s x 60min = 3600).
Then, click Next to proceed.
Creating the Shutdown button.
Creating the Restart button.
Step 3: Name the Shortcut you just created in the Type a name for this shortcut section, for the best recognition, name it according to its function.

Now, all you need to do is click on one of these icons, and with the pre-set timer, your computer will automatically turn off or restart, depending on your intended use. To change the background for these icons, you can refer to the article on how to set up Facebook icons on the desktop.
