Cúc Phương National Park emerges victorious as the Top National Park in Asia for 2023
Cúc Phương secures the Top National Park in Asia for 2023 at the World Travel Awards. Holding the top spot for five consecutive years, Cúc Phương outshines contenders like Chitwan National Park in Nepal, Fuji-Hakone-Izu in Japan, Kinabalu in Malaysia, Komodo in Indonesia, Minneriya in Sri Lanka, and Taman Negara in Malaysia.
Cúc Phương National Park is located 120km south of Hanoi, nestled in the Tam Diep mountain range. It is Vietnam's first national park, established on July 7, 1962, spanning across Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, and Thanh Hoa provinces, covering over 22,000 hectares.
This evergreen tropical rainforest, Cúc Phương National Park, harbors over 2,200 high-level plant species and moss, 122 reptile and amphibian species, 66 fish species, nearly 2,000 insect species, and 135 mammal species, including the white-cheeked black gibbon, a beautiful and rare primate chosen as Cúc Phương's emblem. Late April to May marks butterfly season, attracting thousands of visitors to witness millions of butterflies in the forest.
