Cultural, Sports, and Tourist Festival of Cham Ethnic Group (from October 14th to 16th, 2012) is a national cultural event hosted by Ninh Thuan Province. The festival features hundreds of artisans, artists, performers, musicians, and more from Cham communities across provinces such as Phu Yen, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Tay Ninh, An Giang, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, along with several units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
With the theme 'Cham Culture – Preservation, Promotion, and Integration,' the Cultural, Sports, and Tourist Festival of Cham Ethnic Group in Ninh Thuan aims to preserve the unique cultural identity of the Cham people while honoring these values within the cultural diversity of 54 ethnic groups. Through cultural, sports, and tourist exchange activities, the festival enhances solidarity, learning, and experience exchange for the preservation and development of Cham ethnic cultural, sports, and tourist activities.
The program will take place over 3 days and 3 nights at 4 locations: Po Klongirai Tower Tourist Area, Huu Duc Village Stadium (Phuoc Huu Commune), My Nghiep Traditional Hand-woven Brocade Craft Village, and Bau Truc Traditional Pottery Craft Village.
Festival activities include: artistic performances, traditional Cham costume showcases, sports competitions, culinary cultural introductions, fairs, exhibitions, and book presentations, cultural economic fairs showcasing Cham culture in the context of integration, Cham Culture Preservation and Development Workshop… Alongside are unique traditional ceremonies and folk competitions such as: Kate Ceremony, Raglai Cham People's Costume Parade, water fetching competition, hand-woven brocade, pottery making…
The program is organized by the Representative Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City; Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Ninh Thuan Province; and various departments and units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
