Windows 10, with holistic upgrades in interface, security, and a slew of new features compared to previous Windows versions. In today's post, Mytour will introduce readers to intriguing and enjoyable Windows 10 optimization techniques.

1. Slide to Power Off

The Slide to unlock, Slide to shut down feature commonly seen on smartphones can now be replicated on Windows 10 with the Slide to shut down feature.
Step 1: To activate this feature, right-click on the desktop, choose New > Shortcut.

Step 2: In the ensuing pop-up window, paste the line %windir%\System32\SlideToShutDown.exe.

This creates a clickable icon on your computer; feel free to rename it to anything you prefer. To shut down by sliding, double-click on the newly created icon, and you'll see a blurred silhouette appear.
2. 'God Mode' Feature

Step 1: Here's how to access God mode. Right-click on the desktop, choose New > Folder.

Step 2: Then, name the folder with the code GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}.

3. Disable Quick Access Feature in File Explorer

The Quick access feature on Windows 10 allows quick access to commonly opened folders. However, this feature can be a bit bothersome if you want to hide the folder opening history from strangers.
Step 1: To disable this feature, click on View => Options => Change folder and search options.

Step 2: In the General tab, uncheck the two options under Privacy in the row. Then click OK to save.

4. Tablet Mode
Windows 10 is well-suited for touchscreens and handheld devices like phones and tablets. If you want to experience Windows 10 in Tablet Mode, activate it as follows:
Click on Notifications & Actions at the bottom right corner of the screen and select Tablet mode.

After that, your computer interface will switch to Tablet mode. Looks neat and unique, doesn't it? To turn off this mode, simply go back to Notifications & Actions and deselect Tablet mode.

5. Virtual Desktop Multitasking Interface
We're familiar with the multitasking Task Manager and File Explorer, but Windows 10 also has a new multitasking mode that allows you to create 2 different working desktops called Task View.
Step 1: To activate Task View, right-click on the Taskbar => Show Task View button.

Step 2: Click on Task View. Here, you can visually see the folders and software you have open. To create additional virtual desktops, click on New Desktop, and a new desktop screen will be created.

6. Minimize the Start menu
If you find the Start menu interface on Windows 10 overwhelming and boring, you can minimize and simplify it with the following trick:
Step 1: To declutter the Start menu, right-click on the application in the Start menu => choose Unpin from start. Repeat this process until no apps are left on the Start menu.

Step 2: Move the mouse cursor to the right edge until the double-headed arrow icon appears. Then, hold and drag the mouse inward to collapse the Start menu. Continue dragging the upper area to minimize the entire size of the Start menu.

And finally, you have a neat and more visually appealing Start menu.

7. Change the default folder when opening File Explorer

Step 1: By default, File Explorer opens and accesses the Quick Access folder. To change this, follow these steps:
Step 2: In the File Explorer interface => Click on View => Options => Change folders and search options.

Step 3: In the General tab, select the Open File Explorer to: option and change it to This PC. Every time you open File Explorer afterward, it will automatically switch to This PC and no longer open Quick Access.

8. Rearrange the position of icons in the Actions Center
Icons in Notifications & Actions are not fixed, and we can change their positions or hide them. Here's how to do it:
Step 1: Click on Notifications & Actions => All Settings.

Step 2: Select System.

Step 3: Choose Notifications & Actions. Here you can move the functional buttons or add, hide buttons by adjusting them in Add or remove quick actions.
9. Blurring Windows in Command Prompt
In previous Windows versions, we could customize the Command Prompt interface with different colors. On Windows 10, we can make the Command Prompt interface translucent using the following steps:
Step 1: Right-click on the title bar of Command Prompt => Properties.

Step 2: Switch to the Colors tab and slide the Opacity slider to the left to blur the Command Prompt interface. After sliding all the way to the left, the opacity is around 30%, and the interface becomes nearly transparent as shown below.
