The railway station was constructed over 80 years ago by two French architects, Revéron and Moncet. It's one of Vietnam's first railway lines connecting Da Lat to Phan Rang.
Construction of the station commenced in 1932 and was officially inaugurated in 1938. Due to wartime events, the railway line suffered severe damage in 1972. Over 3 years after liberation, the station's railway was fully restored.

As of now, Da Lat only has 4 train carriages going to Trai Mat, with 1 locomotive. Despite the ups and downs, the vicissitudes of the times, the station has been officially recognized by the government as a “National Cultural Historical Monument”.
