Mr. Truong Huu Hiep, director of the Department of Transportation of Lam Dong Province, announced that the Provincial People's Committee has approved a project to develop urban railways in Da Lat until 2020.
As such, there will be an additional six railway routes from Da Lat to tourist destinations and vice versa: Lang Bian mountain, Tuyen Lam lake, Valley of Love, Tay Nguyen Biology Institute, and Lien Khuong airport, totaling 90km in length.
The estimated budget is around 42,000 billion VND, mobilized from socialization sources. The selected type of railway for construction is a single-track railway with trains consisting of approximately six cars, commonly found in Japan and France. This type has the advantage of minimal deforestation during construction, lightweight trains, and a suitable travel speed of 30-40km/h for tourism purposes.
The Thap Cham – Da Lat railway route, stretching 84km, will also be restored with a budget of around 3,900 billion VND.
