A 14-minute fireworks display will illuminate the Han River, near the Dragon Bridge, allowing locals and tourists to welcome the New Year in style.
Da Nang rings in the New Year with a spectacular fireworks show
On December 27, the Da Nang Tourism Department announced that there will be a fireworks display on the Han River to celebrate the New Year and commemorate the 21st anniversary of Da Nang's direct governance by the central government.

According to the plan issued by the Da Nang People's Committee, the fireworks will be launched from a barge anchored on the Han River, north of the Dragon Bridge. The display will begin at 9:00 PM on December 31 and last for 14 minutes.
Over 1,000 high-altitude fireworks and nearly 340 low-altitude fireworks will be featured, accompanied by special effects synchronized with music. The funding for this New Year's fireworks extravaganza is sourced from social contributions.
In addition to the dazzling fireworks display, on the night of December 31st, Da Nang also organized various artistic performances at the East Park of Dragon Bridge; a music festival welcoming 2018 at East Sea Park.
During the New Year holiday, Da Nang expects to welcome over 140,000 visitors, an increase of nearly 18% compared to the same period. On January 1, 2018, the cruise ship MSC LIRICA carrying about 2,000 Chinese passengers will dock at Tien Sa port.
