The superhero film company DC has opted for a new direction, one that excludes the third installment of Wonder Woman as initially planned.

According to sources from the Hollywood Reporter, Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman will not see a third film as previously anticipated. This revelation comes as a surprise to audiences, considering that production for the third installment was reportedly underway since 2020.
It's reported that Patty Jenkins submitted a script to DC Studios awaiting approval. However, DC and Warner Bros later announced the postponement of the production of Wonder Woman 3. The reason cited was that the two studios currently have 'new plans and directions' for the DC Cinematic Universe.
This raises questions about whether Gal Gadot will continue to portray Wonder Woman in this superhero series and when the character will return to the big screen. Yet, it seems the studio has yet to provide any satisfactory answers for fans. While there's still a possibility of Wonder Woman's return if there's enough fan demand, it's unlikely to happen immediately.
For years, fans have been accustomed to Gal Gadot's iconic portrayal of Wonder Woman. The first installment of the film was considered a box office hit upon release, even revitalizing DC during its most disheartening and disillusioned period. Hence, fans remain hopeful that the halt in production for Wonder Woman 3 is only temporary.
