“Backpacking or picking up girls” is Trang Ha's response to vlogger Duhocsinhmy for the remarks made by this young man claiming that adventurous travel does not exist in Vietnam.
Just a few days after being posted on Youtube and Facebook, the video “Experiencing True Adventure Travel in Vietnam is Impossible” by Duhocsinhmy – Le Hung, has stirred up a storm among the online community passionate about backpacking and extreme sports. And recently, Trang Ha – a blogger, a famous writer, has “fired back” at this vlog with a new article of her own. Whether right or wrong, this topic is heating up and gaining close attention from the community!
Trang Ha – Backpacking or Picking Up Girls?
Based on her own experiences and those of her friends, Trang Ha believes that Vietnam indeed has “true” backpacking and extreme sports, it's just that you might not know or only know in a narrow way.
Trang Ha's sharing has been well received, many comments saying that Le Hung is just “sitting at the bottom of the well” when he doesn't know if he has ever been backpacking and yet demands to define and evaluate it.
Furthermore, according to Trang Ha, true backpacking and extreme sports compared to those in developed countries like the world are rudimentary and more importantly, whether it is 'true' or not depends on the mindset of the traveler, something that Duhocsinhmy was unaware of!
Not only Trang Ha's fans but also some other Facebook pages are buzzing because of this topic. Perhaps because Trang Ha somewhat accurately reflects the 'sentiments' of backpackers & extreme sports enthusiasts in Vietnam rather than being a 'keyboard hero'.
Renowned female photographer Maika, who has captured many impressive moments on her backpacking journeys, also spoke out: '... It's best to just go, rather than talk too much, right? This Duhocsinhmy guy knows everything, probably has been backpacking a lot, from bed to the computer desk, hehe'. It's clear that this guy is not only causing a stir in the online community but also being 'noticed' by seasoned backpackers and extreme sports enthusiasts!
Le Hung – Shocking but not Wrong!
However, there are also opinions on this topic that the remarks made by Le Hung in the clip are very straightforward. And this Vlog is not entirely wrong, what he 'criticizes' can help some groups reconsider the true meaning of backpacking combined with the adventurous nature of various sports, games... and it's also a good way for Vietnam's tourism to improve!
Everyone has their own arguments and reasoning, but it's clear that public opinion is currently divided into 2 trends when answering questions like: Does true adventurous travel in Vietnam, specifically 'backpacking and extreme sports,' exist? And how to go about it, what should be done to be considered true adventurous travel?
In fact, the story of exploration travel and extreme sports is still being discussed by people, on personal pages, forums... But perhaps, this is the first time it has been said so frankly and attracted so much attention and comment. The online community and those who are truly passionate about adventurous travel are awaiting the next moves from Le Hung after this 'counterattack' by Trang Ha.
