With the inaugural sunflower festival, Nghệ An is bound to be the most sought-after destination for photography enthusiasts in December. The festival is scheduled from December 25th, 2016 to January 5th, 2017, featuring activities such as beauty pageants, traditional games, and possibly fireworks.
December brings Nghệ An to participate in Vietnam's first-ever sunflower festival.
Stretching over hundreds of hectares, TH Food Company's sunflower fields, planted since 2010 to supplement the nutrition of tens of thousands of cows, burst into vibrant yellow blooms every December, attracting thousands of tourists to admire them.
However, due to spontaneous sightseeing activities and unregulated services, disorderliness, cultural deficiency, lack of order and security, and traffic congestion on the Hồ Chí Minh highway passing through Nghĩa Đàn district during the sunflower season are frequent occurrences.
To address these issues and create a more beautiful image for the land of Nghệ, the People's Committee of Nghệ An province has entrusted the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in collaboration with TH Group and Nghĩa Đàn district authorities, to develop a project to organize the Sunflower Festival. This aims to transform this vibrant sunflower field into a tourist attraction with new experiential travel products.
