Grilled Sweetbreads, Bull Testicle Soup, and Semen Soup... These dishes are made from the sensitive parts of chicken, goat, beef, or horse, commonly found in barbecue restaurants in Hanoi. These dishes are highly appealing to customers, especially men, due to a widespread belief in the public about 'eating what benefits'.
Grilled Bull Testicles
Grilled Bull Testicles are a favorite appetizer among men, made from the reproductive organs of male cattle.

Bull testicles are sliced thinly, marinated with a blend of spices and a hint of honey, then grilled over charcoal until golden brown. This dish has a delicious sweet taste, chewy texture, and fragrant aroma of honey. Grilled bull testicles are often served with chili sauce and accompanied by aromatic herbs such as basil, mint, coriander, and spearmint.
In Hanoi, you can find establishments selling this dish on Phuong Liet street, Nguyen Khanh Toan street, Le Thanh Nghi street, or Phung Hung street.
Chicken Testicle Soup
Many people favor this dish believing it enhances male virility. The preparation is simple, just finely chop some coriander leaves and stuff them between the chicken testicles, then steam them. Additionally, chicken testicles can be stir-fried with various vegetables, remaining tender and sweet.
This dish is very popular in Vietnam. You can easily find it in chicken specialty restaurants in Hanoi.
Grilled Beef Udders
Grilled beef udders are a favorite dish for many, especially on cold winter days. Although simple to make, the key to deliciousness lies in the marination and dipping sauce. Grilled beef udders are crispy and fragrant with the taste of oil and butter. This dish is served with corn, tomatoes, eggplant, and onions.

Unlike grilled udders, fried udders are deep-fried in hot oil after being marinated with spices, a bit of flour, and sesame seeds until golden brown. As a result, the outer layer is crispy while the inner udder remains soft and cooked.
This dish can be found at eateries along Pham Ngoc Thach street and Ma May street.
Horse Testicles
Horse testicles are favored by many men as they are believed to 'regain manliness'. Typically, they are cleaned, sliced, then simmered with chicken broth. The fish bladder is minced and mixed with egg whites, spices, wine, shallots, ginger, and shiitake mushrooms, then shaped into balls and steamed. When served, the stewed testicles are accompanied by the fish balls, with some thickened broth and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, and it's usually served hot.
In addition, there is another equally enticing way to prepare horse testicles. Soak them in hot water until they expand, then remove the outer skin, rinse, slice, and stir-fry with chicken meat, adding some thinly sliced ginger for aroma. Stir until golden, then add water, seasonings, a bit of wine, and simmer over low heat. When eaten, the testicles are soft and crispy.
This dish is sold at eateries on Hoang Quoc Viet street.
Grilled Goat Udders
In Hanoi, there's no shortage of eateries related to goat, especially the beloved Grilled Goat Udders. The udders are tender, crispy, marinated with rich spices, and grilled over charcoal stoves. This dish is often served with fresh cheese for dipping.

The dipping cheese must be perfectly balanced, not too salty nor too sweet, with a hint of spicy satay sauce. This is a favorite dish for many, especially on cool days.
Steamed Goat Penis
This is a favorite dish among men. To prepare steamed goat penis, one selects goat penis, testicles, or even the entire reproductive system of the goat, thinly slices them, marinates with garlic, shallots, five-spice powder, puts them on a plate, then pours alcohol over and ignites it. The heat from the alcohol will cook the goat penis.
Additionally, goat penis can be used to make hotpot. The broth for the hotpot is made from lotus roots, lotus seeds, and water chestnuts, then the goat penis is dipped in. However, you should only cook until it's fully done; otherwise, it will reduce the effectiveness of the goat penis.
You can find this dish on Tay Son street and Nguyen Khang street.
