For those busy days, a simple yet flavorful stir-fried beef with betel leaf is just perfect. Let's learn how to make it.
Delicious, nutritious meals that don't take much time to prepare are a top choice for homemakers. Today, PasGo shares a quick and easy recipe for family meals: betel leaf stir-fried beef.
Ingredients:
- Beef tenderloin: 200g
- Onion: ½ bulb
- Betel leaves: 15-20 leaves
- Minced garlic: 2 teaspoons
- Seasoning powder, salt, pepper, cooking oil, MSG, cornstarch

How to Cook Betel Leaf Stir-Fried Beef:
Step 1:
- Clean the beef, slice thinly.
- Marinate the beef with the following spices: 1 teaspoon minced garlic, 1 teaspoon seasoning powder, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon pepper, ½ teaspoon cooking oil, ½ teaspoon MSG, ½ teaspoon granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon cornstarch.
Marinating the beef with cornstarch helps the spices to penetrate faster and ensures the meat stays tender and moist when stir-fried.

- Marinate the beef for about 10 minutes.
Step 2:
- Heat oil in a pan, then sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
- Next, add the beef and stir-fry. Keep the heat high, stir continuously until the beef is tender and evenly cooked.

- Once the beef is cooked to your liking, transfer it to a plate.
Step 3:
- Remove the stems from the betel leaves, wash them thoroughly, and cut into pieces about the width of a finger.

- Peel the onion, wash it clean, then slice or cut into square pieces.
- In the same pan, heat up cooking oil, then add the onion and stir-fry evenly.
- Next, add the betel leaves and the previously stir-fried beef to the pan and stir-fry together.
- Stir on the stove for a few more minutes until the beef is cooked through, then turn off the heat, season with spices to taste.

Note:
Avoid overcooking as it can make the beef tough, the vegetables mushy and limp. Stir-fry just until the beef is cooked through.

Transfer the stir-fried beef with betel leaves to a plate, sprinkle with some black pepper if desired. The dish is complete when the beef is tender, fragrant with betel leaves, and the sweet taste of beef and onions. Serve this stir-fried beef with betel leaves hot with steamed rice for a delicious meal.
