II. Sample Essay Describing the Outfit Worn to School Today
1. Describe the outfit you wore to school today, sample 1:
I just received this school uniform shirt from the school last week.
Unlike my third-grade uniform shirt, this one is white and navy blue, which looks very refreshing. It has long sleeves, navy blue, perfectly fitting my arms. On the upper arm, there is a familiar school emblem, featuring a notebook, a pen, the school's name, and phone number. Running along the sleeve are three white fabric stripes, each about a centimeter wide, but they stand out on the blue fabric. The cuffs are made with three layers of elastic bands, stretchable and snug on my wrists, so when it's cold, the wind can't get through. The body of the shirt is wide, made of green fabric with white on top, with two small parallel white fabric stripes in the middle, making it look very nice. The small white jacket is right next to the shirt hem. When it's cold, I zip up the jacket, and the collar of the jacket turns a warm milky white color, very warm. When it's slightly chilly, I zip it up to the collar and fold the collar outwards, then the collar is a bright blue like the color of the sea. The body of the shirt also has two cute pockets on either side, also quite spacious, I can fit both of my hands in them. Inside the shirt is made of white fabric, with an additional layer of cotton in the middle. Thanks to this cotton layer, the shirt puffs up, looks really big and beautiful, and when worn, it's really warm.
I cherish my school uniform shirt dearly.
2. Describe the outfit you wore to school today, sample 2:
At the beginning of the new school year, my mom bought me the school uniform set. Oh! The school uniform set is so lovely, but my favorite part is this shirt.
The shirt has a body shape similar to a rectangle. It's about three, two arm lengths long and wide, fitting for me to wear. It's made of cotton fabric, feels very smooth to the touch.
The collar of the shirt resembles a heart shape. The sleeves always puff up and are slightly shorter than my wrists. The school logo is embroidered on the sleeves, so everyone knows I'm a student at Cuu Long Elementary School, especially the drawings like a torch, a graduation cap, and a book with the words 'Preamble to Learning, Afterward to Literature' as a logo making it even more beautiful. The shirt placket is thick with two layers, on the left, next to the placket is embroidered with the school emblem, class name, and student's name, my name embroidered in red is very meaningful. The red stitches have made that name stand out. The buttonholes are five holes, always vertical and straight like soldiers in the parade. The buttons are made of plastic, I really like these button buddies, sometimes they can be mischievous, when they come loose, they jump down to the floor, making me search for them. The stitches of the shirt are evenly sewn, straight, not slanted or skewed. The shirt makes me feel very comfortable when wearing it.
My school uniform shirt also reminds me of an unforgettable memory, one day on the way home from school suddenly it started raining heavily but I forgot to bring my raincoat so I had to walk home in the rain and got mud splashed all over it. Because the shirt was dirty, when I got home, my mom scolded me but after scolding me, my mom said to me, 'Next time, be more careful and remember to bring your raincoat because the weather is prone to rain a lot, okay, dear!'. Sweet words, thanks to those words, I feel like the shirt is not angry with me but also smiling at me.
I cherish this school shirt dearly because when I wear it, it helps me feel refreshed in my studies. I promise to take good care of this shirt to keep it clean for wearing to school every day. The shirt has a body shape similar to a rectangle. It's about three, two arm lengths long and wide, fitting for me to wear. It's made of cotton fabric, feels very smooth to the touch.
3. Describe the outfit you wore to school today, sample 3:
My school has regulations: on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, students must wear uniforms to class; on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, they can dress freely. Today is Saturday, so I'm wearing a simple outfit like many other students.
My parents are workers, not wealthy. I'm used to living frugally. Only during Tet (Lunar New Year) do I get a new outfit, usually ready-made. Most of the clothes I wear are hand-me-downs from my sister Tam. She's two years older than me and is in 8th grade.
Today I'm wearing a pair of blue khaki pants and a floral shirt. Although the clothes are old, they've been cleaned and ironed by my mom, so they look neat when worn. The round neckline is very cute, and it complements my fair skin. My mom always says, 'The round collar matches well with my daughter's beautiful face.' On the left side of the shirt, there's an embroidered pink lotus, two green leaves, and a white stork hunting for food. Every time I wear this shirt to school, my friends, Lan, Huong, Cuong... tease me by reciting a folk rhyme:
'The stork, the heron, the buffalo,
Why do you trample on other people's fields, oh stork!'
My favorite part is the shirt with two pockets shaped like plums, so adorable. They're my little treasures. Sometimes I keep my bow, hairpin in them. Sometimes a folded piece of paper. Sometimes a stick of gum. Occasionally, a couple of coins, the money mom gives me for a drink. The white buttons shine like stars.
What's special is the shirt emits a pleasant fragrance. Not the scent of perfume, but the aroma of sisterly love. The shirt has absorbed the sweat of my two sisters. It's infused with the sweet scent of camaraderie. Sister Tam is smart, gentle, and kind-hearted. Every time I wear this shirt to school, I feel joyful, as if my sister has imparted to me so much determination and affection.
The shirt I wore to class today, although old, is rich with sibling affection and truly lovely.
4. Describe the shirt or dress you wore to school today, model 4:
At our school, students wear a uniform of blue trousers and a white shirt. The shirt I wore to class today is a white shirt my mother bought at the beginning of the school year.
My shirt is made of good-quality cotton fabric, pure white in color. It's a lovely style, a feminine shirt with a bow-tie neckline and puffy sleeves. The shirt collar is a modern shirt collar with lace trim, lined for stability. The lace border on the collar gives it a graceful, charming look. On both sides of the collar stand, there's a forty-centimeter long strip of fabric for tying a bow. The short sleeves are very puffy, round like lanterns. The shirt body fits me perfectly. The back of the shirt is one piece, but the two front panels have intricately embroidered flowers. There are three half-inch lapel pins, each with six shiny silver plastic buttons like seashells. The hem stitching is sharp and fine, making the shirt's edges soft, supple, and snug against my body. Carefully attached to the left side of the shirt's chest is the school emblem. Wearing the shirt, buttoned up carefully, and tying the bow at the collar, it fits comfortably. The soft, smooth fabric against my skin makes me feel very comfortable. In the school uniform, I feel mature and more beautiful. The shirt is fragrant, soft like a mother's love, caring and enveloping. I love my mother and am very grateful that she bought me such a beautiful shirt. Every day, after school, I hang up my shirt and in the evening, my mother washes it for the whole family. My mother reminds me to take care of the shirt so that its color always stays white, without being stained yellow by sweat.
I really like the school uniform shirt my mother bought, and I promise to study diligently and achieve good results to make my parents happy.
5. Describe the shirt or dress you wore to school today, model 5:
This morning, the winter sky was cold and frosty. I wore fabric shoes and a warm outfit to go to school.
Everything was old but very clean. The long worker's khaki trousers. The gray striped shirt. The dark blue wool sweater. On the outside was a thick yellow coat.
The coat is still new, my mother bought it for me at the beginning of the cold season. It has a plastic zipper, with two large pockets on each side, perfect for keeping hands warm. Inside, there are two additional pockets for carrying other things. Wearing the coat, I feel much taller, almost as tall as the third or fourth-grade boys.
My mother used my father's disabled veteran subsidy to buy this coat for her little son. For me, the warm coat I wore to school today is a garment filled with love, reminding me to be filial, diligent, and studious.
