II. Sample Essay on Describing a Garden I Once Encountered
Every Tet holiday, my parents would take me back to the countryside to visit my grandparents. The house there was incredibly spacious! I particularly adored the small garden in front of the yard that my grandparents diligently tended to every day.
Although not very large, the garden was about twenty square meters and boasted a diverse array of plants and flowers. I enjoyed accompanying my grandmother along the old brick wall to enter the garden every morning, marveling at the vibrant life within. Along the garden's edge were lush sesame plants and a bed of dark green amaranth. As we ventured further in, the garden became more abundant, teeming with various species. On the left corner, my grandfather planted fruit-bearing trees like guava, jackfruit, and custard apple. Though not towering, these trees bore fruits every year. On the right corner, my grandmother cultivated vibrant red roses and colorful chrysanthemums, adding a radiant touch to the garden. In the center, my grandparents grew banana leaves, large and green, swaying in the wind as if anticipating being used for wrapping traditional Tet cakes.
I cherish my grandparents' garden deeply. Even when far away, every year I eagerly anticipate returning to this place to breathe in the fresh air of the garden, to personally care for the plants alongside my grandparents, feeling like a true farmer. That garden will forever remain the most beautiful childhood memory for me.
