II. Sample Essay Describing a Math Class
1. Describing a Math Class, Sample 1 (Standard)
The school bell echoes, the lively sounds of the playground gradually subside, and students begin to enter the classroom one by one. Our class quickly settles down, preparing textbooks for our homeroom teacher's subject, which is Mathematics.
Our homeroom teacher enters the classroom gracefully in her elegant white áo dài. She seems unusually cheerful today, smiling brightly since she walked down the hallway. Instead of calling on volunteers, she decides to play a game of drawing lots for reviewing the previous lesson. This both excites and worries us.
Our homeroom teacher teaches math very effectively and comprehensibly. The subject, usually considered dry, becomes fascinating under her instruction. Today, we are learning about Sets. Her examples make the concept easy to understand, visualize, and apply. She encourages us to be creative in imagining different sets, some classmates use sets of students in class 6C as examples, while others refer to sets of family members. Everyone grasps the lesson well, and I find high school-level math not as challenging as expected.
The class concludes, the teacher bids the whole class farewell happily, and we thank her for delivering a lively, meaningful, and interesting hour of learning.
2. Describing a Math Class, Sample 2 (Standard)
Despite knowing that students should equally prioritize all subjects, not favoring or disregarding any, I still prefer studying Mathematics the most. It's my passion and enthusiasm for learning, which is why I always look forward to math class.
The bell rings, signaling the beginning of the next class, which is Mathematics. Our math teacher is Mr. Nam, a young teacher fresh out of university but exceptionally talented, with outstanding qualifications that led him to be directly recruited to teach at our school. I eagerly anticipate his classes as he always brings a sense of novelty, distinctiveness, and creativity in his teaching methods. Today, he's teaching Addition and Multiplication. He writes the lesson title on the board, his handwriting neat, concise, and bold.
While the teacher lectures, the whole class listens attentively; only when instructed by the teacher can we take notes. The teacher doesn't want us to write too much in our notebooks if we won't remember anything. He says, 'Writing in your notebooks only tires your hand, wastes ink; instead, pay attention and listen, your brain will remember everything.' When the teacher invites students to the board to solve exercises, many eagerly volunteer. However, due to shyness, I hesitate to step forward. Surprisingly, the teacher calls my name, and I successfully solve the problem, earning full marks and encouraging words from the teacher to be more confident.
The class concludes, the board filled with numbers, both in the teacher's and my handwriting. I always hope that every math class would leave such traces on the board.

It can be said that the most challenging subject for me up to this point is mathematics. Since stepping into secondary school, I haven't quite gotten used to the learning method or the new types of math problems. However, thanks to Mr. Duy's math class, I'm gradually adapting.
