II. Sample Essay Describing My Classroom Desk and Chair
This year, I stepped into the fourth-grade classroom. Consequently, I was moved to a new classroom with more modern amenities such as a projector, electric lights, air conditioning, and new study desks and chairs to enhance our learning experience. The study desk and chairs in my classroom are positioned in the third row, next to the window. Since studying in this room, this set has become my closest companion.
The study desk and chairs are rectangular. They are brand new, exuding the scent of fresh paint as they were recently brought to our 4A classroom at the beginning of this school year. This new set is crafted from plywood and metal. The desk surface is made of plywood, coated with a smooth layer of yellow paint, facilitating easy writing. The four sturdy iron legs provide stability. The table's length is approximately two meters, and the width is around fifty centimeters. This length allows two students to comfortably sit at one table. Similarly, the width is spacious enough for us to place books and pens comfortably. The edges of the desk and chairs are covered with a layer of black flexible plastic, eliminating sharp corners. The chair, measuring about sixty centimeters in height, is also made of plywood with iron legs, ensuring sturdiness.
On my study desk, there is a small deep groove for placing pens to prevent them from rolling. Additionally, there is a small slot for an inkwell. My desk has two compartments – one for me and the other for Nga, my seatmate. The compartments are designed to be spacious, suitable for storing our books inside. Furthermore, the desk is conveniently equipped with a cute little hook for hanging backpacks. That's what makes me adore this desk the most. It is a new type of desk, more practical and user-friendly compared to the old desks in our 3A classroom from the past. Those desks were made of wood and lacked the wide compartments found in this one.
This table has been an invaluable companion in our study journey, providing not just a comfortable space for books and writing but also an elegant storage solution. Unfortunately, a recent ink mishap has marred the beauty of this new desk, leaving me feeling apologetic for the unintended damage.
As we bid farewell to this cherished desk, moving on to a new academic chapter, I pledge to maintain its cleanliness. I want the future generations to experience the joy of studying on this beautifully adorned piece of furniture.
