II. Sample Essay: Describing the Beauty of Mountains and Forests
1. Description of Beautiful Mountains and Forests, Sample 1:
My hometown, Thái Nguyên, is renowned for its tea plantations, but the image etched in my mind isn't rolling hills of tea but rather the majestic expanse of palm forests.
Traversing the roads leading towards the mountains, palms are scattered everywhere, yet a dense palm forest is a rare sight. Only deep within the valleys, concealed behind towering peaks, can one find these ancient palm groves. Palm trees grow slowly, perhaps only gaining a few centimeters in a year, and the older they get, the slower they grow. Yet, who knows how long the palms in this forest have been here, some reaching heights of 30 meters. Palms thrive in sunlight; each tree in the palm forest strives upwards, stretching its fronds to catch the sun's rays. Beneath the sunlight, the palm forest becomes a deep shade of green, resembling a vast palm-leaf hat. Venturing into the heart of the palm forest, one feels overwhelmed as the leaves blot out the sunlight, one layer upon another. Consequently, few other plants can thrive beneath the palm canopy, with only shrubs or grasses predominating. The palm forest is considered a treasure by the locals; palm fruit is valuable, but palm leaves are even more so, used for roofing, crafting hats, raincoats, and even brooms.
I cherish palm trees, the lush palm forests, and everything these palms provide for humanity. I hope that these palm forests will always be preserved and protected.
2. Description of Beautiful Mountains and Forests, Sample 2:
During our school's camping trip, we had the opportunity to explore Cuc Phuong National Park, a rare pristine forest in our country.
The beauty of a pristine forest is entirely different from all other ordinary forests. What sets it apart is the rich diversity and age of the flora and fauna thriving beneath the canopy of Cuc Phuong. This forest is vast, requiring quite a long journey from the forest edge to its core. Thanks to the small trails, we could move around easily, simultaneously learning and admiring the surrounding vegetation. Among the unfamiliar tree species and exquisite flowers, I could distinctly feel the lushness and humidity within the forest. I was impressed by the ancient towering trees, from below they seemed to pierce through the forest canopy. Then there were the climbing vines, sprawling across the forest, weaving from one tree to another, turning the forest into a tangled web. When talking about Cuc Phuong, everyone immediately thinks of the thousand-year-old Ficus tree, it's truly remarkable to see it thriving, still vibrant and welcoming visitors every day.
Befriending the forest, I have immersed myself in a space of lush greenery, freshness, and coolness, blending with nature, trees, and above all, I have felt the breath of the forest, knowing to value the worth of these forested areas.
3. Description of Beautiful Mountains and Forests, Sample 3:
In the innocent memories of childhood, my pure poetry always had companions, games, joyful days, and especially, all took place under the green pine forest canopy.
Pine forests appear deep green from afar, but up close, one can see the rich green mixed with brown, dotted with hints of youthful green, thanks to the deep green of the canopy, the brown of the tree trunks, and the young green of the undergrowth. I enjoy admiring pine forests after a rain, when the sky is at its bluest, the vibrant green pine forests echoing with the songs of birds. I remember the summer afternoons spent playing with friends in the pine forest; it was cool and spacious, not dense. We collected pine cones to take home and craft into various mementos. Sitting under the pine trees, we told stories and sang to each other, our songs blending with the rustling of the wind in the forest, creating a soothing, pleasant sound. On cold winter days shrouded in fog, the pine forest seemed to vanish without a trace, the fog and mist blanketing the entire forest, only when approached closely could one see the pine trees.
After so many years, now I have grown up, the pine forest is still there but the trips to the pine forest are no longer there, the pine forest has become a place to mark the memories of my childhood.
