II. Exemplary Composition: Describing the Board in Our Classroom
From the early days as students, we all became familiar with the refrain 'Every desk has a chair/ Every book has a pair/ Every pen has ink to share/ Every board has chalk to spare…' Desks, chairs, books, and boards have become special companions for all students. In our class, the green board is always meticulously cleaned to welcome each new lesson.
Right from my first day in grade one, I was pleasantly surprised to see a large green board on the lectern. The rectangular board, almost four meters long and two meters wide, was crafted from industrial wood. Sturdy white metal bars bordered all four edges to secure the board. The board surface was coated with glossy green paint, and white lines were drawn on it, resembling notebook paper lines. Thanks to these lines, teachers could write precise, neat characters on the board. The green board encapsulates countless meaningful lessons. During class activities, birthday celebrations, or festive occasions, we come together to draw whimsical figures to decorate the board. A small tray is attached to the right corner of the board to hold the eraser.
Almost four years have passed, and the board has become a familiar object to us students. Each day, we take turns cleaning it thoroughly, waiting for the teachers to write on it with interesting and concise words, and intriguing lessons.
