Tips How to write a captivating descriptive essay
1. Describing the Lily Flower, Sample #1:
Every year, when Tet comes, our home is adorned with various flowers. One of the most impressive pots is the lily flower pot.
2. Describing Lily Flowers, Sample 2:
My grandmother has been cultivating flowers for a long time, but her deepest passion lies with the bed of lilies. Occasionally joining her in the garden to care for the flowers, I gradually developed an affection for these lilies.
The stems are green and straight but surprisingly soft. Thus, even when small, my grandmother often uses small sticks for support to help the lily plants grow strong. The leaves grow directly and densely from the stem. As the lily plants mature, the buds start to appear, resembling large and long feather pens. Each lily plant will have three to four flowers. While lilies bloom throughout the year, they are most beautiful during Tet. My grandmother cultivates lilies to sell during Tet for families to bring home. Lily flowers come in various colors: white, pink, yellow, orange, and more. When the lily bed is in full bloom, numerous colorful butterflies and diligent bees visit, turning our garden into a beautiful, vibrant painting. The fragrance emanating from the blooming lilies fills the air, reaching even indoors.
These lily plants not only embellish our garden but also contribute economic value to our family, making me truly fond of them.
3. Describing Lily Flowers, Sample 3:
It's been a while since I had the chance to visit my grandparents. Upon our parting, my grandfather gifted me a pot of lilies, advising me to take good care of them so that I could enjoy the beautiful blooms during Tet.
Every day, I diligently watered the plant, and in no time, the verdant stems shot up, nearly reaching my chest. The leaves grew directly from the stem, each one a glossy green with distinct veins. After months of care, I witnessed the first buds emerging from the plant. Each stem had three to four distinct flowers, all elegantly elongated and slender. One morning, as I prepared to go to school, I noticed the first blossom had unfurled. It felt truly miraculous to see the flowers bloom from the pot I had personally nurtured. The pointed petals were a pale yellow but captivating, with the color deepening near the stem and fading towards the edges. Delicate, intricate dark spots adorned the petals, adding a touch of sophistication. With only one bloom, its intense fragrance had already filled my entire home. Although lilies may resemble trumpet flowers at a glance, they are distinct. Their size surpasses that of trumpets, and the fragrance is much more pronounced. Excited, I immediately called my grandparents to share the news.
Previously, I had never tried growing any plants. However, after receiving the potted lilies from my grandfather, I suddenly found a newfound love for plants, especially this particular type of flower.
