As the Tet holiday approaches and spring arrives, the streets are filled with the vibrant colors of peach blossoms, apricots, kumquats, and more, proudly displaying their beauty. On the 30th day of the lunar calendar, my family and I visited the market to purchase a pot of kumquats to adorn our home for Tet.
The kumquat tree isn't very tall, just a bit taller than me, neatly placed in a small porcelain pot. Its slender trunk, about the size of an adult's big toe, branches out into an exquisite form sculpted by skilled artisans. The leaves of the kumquat tree grow densely on each branch, with a pale green color similar to lemon leaves. Each branch is adorned with numerous small fruits, bright orange and vivid, standing out against the green backdrop. The round kumquats, slightly larger than lemons, hang in abundance on every branch. They emit a pleasant, refreshing fragrance, creating a delightful atmosphere.
On Tet days, the kumquat tree symbolizes prosperity, abundance, bringing luck, vitality, and hope to the household. I have a great fondness for the kumquat tree and am committed to nurturing it to keep it as vibrant and lush as it is now.

In Mai's house, my friend has planted a captivating kumquat tree for decorative purposes. Every time I visit Mai's house, I find myself admiring the beauty of that kumquat tree. The two of us, always busy, even compete to draw the kumquat tree to see who can create a more beautiful representation.
The kumquat tree stands at around one and a half meters, with a slender trunk. The dark green bark is not excessively rugged but bears a few unique bumps along the trunk. The kumquat tree boasts numerous small branches spreading in various directions, each adorned with densely growing, vibrant green leaves. The leaves have a pale green color, are slender, small, and slightly thick, with faintly visible veins on the surface. At the tips of the branches, small, green, budding shoots add a touch of freshness. The kumquats rest delicately on the branches, each plump and juicy, with smooth, shiny skin. The prominent orange color and distinctive fragrance make them stand out. Peeling the thin outer layer reveals small, juicy segments with a delightful sweet and tangy flavor.
Mai tells me, 'This kumquat tree has been growing for many years, and every year it generously bears bountiful fruit. You and I will take care of it together, ensuring that it continues to thrive. It's our refuge during leisure hours after long days of study.'

Every Tet, I join my mom in the flower market, selecting a beautiful kumquat tree to bring home for the Lunar New Year celebration. Before me lies a row of kumquat pots displayed in a corner of the market, each one captivating and full of allure.
The kumquat trees aren't too tall, only about a meter high, with the tallest reaching just two meters. Each tree is elegantly placed in porcelain pots, their shapes enhanced by the skilled trimming of the farmers. The trees branch out with lush, dark green leaves. The relatively small kumquat leaves release a distinctive fragrance when gently pressed. Fresh green buds add to the beauty of the nonchalant branches. Adorning the branches are vibrant kumquats, ripe with a prominent orange hue. The round fruits, slightly smaller than lemons, are smooth, juicy, shyly hiding behind the lush green leaves. Delicate white flowers further embellish the kumquat pots, enhancing their graceful charm.
The kumquat tree is a special Tet gift for the New Year. I've been entrusted by my mom to decorate and care for the potted tree every day. I'm genuinely excited about my new responsibility.
