II. Sample Essay Describing Plum Trees
Under the scorching sun of Saigon's summer, it's truly delightful every time I pass through Nguyen Dinh Chieu street and encounter the cool greenery of plum trees on both sides of the road. Naturally, the plum tree row has become a very familiar image in my mind.
The plum trees are planted in a straight line, each tree numbered. They belong to the hardwood category, reaching a height of about 15 meters. The tree trunk is not too large, equivalent to a baby's arm's circumference. The tree bark is brown, rough and straight, branching out with numerous small, slender, and angular plum branches. The small plum leaves resemble phoenix leaves, growing in pairs, with each branch having several dozen small leaves. The plum leaves are dark green. The white flowers of the plum, dotted amidst the green of a thousand leaves, bloom in clusters, and the pale yellow flower buds are truly beautiful. When the plum is young, the fruit is green and sour; when ripe, it turns brown, with soft flesh that has a balanced sweet and sour taste. The plum is used as a spice or dessert for meals.
The green plum row casts a refreshing shade along the street amid the harsh sunlight, making people feel comfortable and blissful. Some tourists stop under the plum trees, enjoying the cool breeze, swaying branches, as if engaging in a conversation, beckoning everyone to pause and rest. On the tree branches, birds chirp melodiously. A young girl wearing a white traditional Ao Dai walking under the green plum trees creates a wonderful scene, with plum leaves gently touching her long, flowing hair at the back, making it dreamlike. Plum leaves falling onto the roadside create a golden silk carpet, both beautiful and sensuous.
The green plum row in the streets of Saigon remains strong and steadfast, witnessing the many changes of the city. Over time, as the plum trees grow, sturdy and resilient, enduring rainstorms, winds, and sun, the plum trees continue to stand alongside the people, providing shelter, accompanying, and beautifying the urban landscape.
