Student's Composition
Last Sunday, our school organized a car trip to visit Hải Vân Pass, which was very exciting and left me with profound impressions.
Before the trip, I borrowed my sister's small camera to capture the beauty of Hải Vân Pass. Everyone on the bus was excited and eager. The road led us onto National Highway 1 heading south, running parallel to the railway line. The asphalt road was smooth and stretched far ahead like a thin layer of water. On either side were rows of green trees, with refreshing coconut trees on one side and spreading ancient banyan trees providing shade on the other. As we climbed, the road twisted and turned, with high cliffs on one side and deep valleys on the other. I eagerly admired the scenery on both sides of the road. After passing through two short mountain passes and a long flat stretch, the vehicles were ready to tackle the pass. The road up to the summit was wide and shaded by lush green trees. Near the mountain wall, there were deeper grooves for water runoff; on the cliff side, the road widened, and the surface was smooth and shiny. Streams of trucks and cars laboriously ascended the pass. Small cars anxiously tried to maneuver ahead. Mountains upon mountains, valleys upon valleys, occasionally looking down, the sea appeared faintly blue and tranquil. The railway ran below, sometimes passing through tunnels. Up high, the mountains merged with the fluffy clouds like islands in the sea. The driver stopped by the roadside. From here, the view of the pass was truly beautiful! The road had traversed the mountain slope ahead. Several cars were slowly climbing to the summit. The tall mountains, deep forests in the valleys, serene blue sea, and stretches of white sand along the foothills unfolded before us. Together with my friends, I joyfully took photos amidst the picturesque scenery...
Finally, the last vehicle reached the summit and stopped at a wide, flat area. Thick fog and chilly winds greeted us, but I found it very enjoyable. Dimly visible through the dense fog was a small temple nestled against the mountainside, with incense smoke rising. After a brief rest, the vehicle slowly descended the pass. By now, the fog had dissipated, revealing high-voltage electric poles, concrete retaining walls, and asphalt roads. On one side were dense, towering green mountains, while on the other was the calm, blue sea... Fluffy white clouds drifted across the deep blue sky. Winding roads snaked through the high mountain slopes, gradually disappearing. The vehicle continued to descend slowly, rolling down the slope. A blue sign indicating the end of the pass stood proudly by the roadside, marking the end of the challenging journey and welcoming us to the final downhill stretch, where vast expanses of green fields, meadows, and paddy fields lay open before us.
The beauty of Hải Vân Pass is truly unique, and I am delighted to have visited. The more I admire Hải Vân Pass, the more I love my country.
