Its body, crafted from several wooden pieces, is held together by large nails. The drumheads, made of well-worn buffalo skin, feel rough to the touch. The gray rims resemble two dormant snakes, silently menacing. Next to it lies a smaller drum, seemingly petite but emitting resounding beats when struck. The drum is every student's friend. Every morning, its urgent call signals us to line up for class. It never misses a beat, whether it's time for recess or dismissal. Its three beats ring out, and students from all classes swarm out like a burst beehive. As students depart, the drum sits silently on its stand, lonely and still.
Throughout four years of schooling, the drum has been our close companion. Even as we depart from our beloved school in the future, the image of the school drum will remain etched in our hearts.
