Faker and the T1 squad continue to unsettle fans despite clinching two flawless victories.
On May 22nd (Vietnam time) of MSI 2022, several surprises occurred. The biggest shock was G2 Esports - the only undefeated team until this final day, finally succumbing to defeat. However, the unexpected team to vanquish the 'central circus' was PSG Talon - a team nobody anticipated. Since the start of the Rumble Stage, PSG hadn't been highly regarded. Furthermore, the PCS representative fell to both T1 and Royal Never Give Up - G2's two arch-rivals.

Apart from G2's losses to PSG and later to RNG, T1's players had a relatively successful third day of competition. Despite facing weaker opponents (Evil Geniuses and PSG), these were crucial victories. Not only did they strengthen T1's position on the standings, but they also helped Faker and his teammates regain some much-needed confidence. It's worth noting that in the past few days of competition, T1 has been under immense pressure. They lost to both G2 and RNG - two direct competitors for the MSI 2022 championship. Furthermore, the players' performances weren't particularly convincing.

Therefore, the victories against EG and SGB serve as appropriate 'remedies' for Faker and his teammates to rejuvenate their spirits. Many fans also hope that T1 will perform better. After all, both EG and PSG are significantly weaker than T1. Thus, Faker and his teammates not only need to win but also need to win convincingly.
However, this didn't happen in the matches. T1's players secured victories, but they were hard-fought ones. Particularly in the PSG match, when T1 was leading by 8k gold, they could still be easily defeated by PSG in team fights. The ones who have maintained stable form since MSI 2022 began until now are the 'veterans' Faker and Oner. But even Faker himself had some inefficient plays and mistakes. And thus, the League of Legends community still doesn't fully trust T1's journey at MSI 2022 this time around.

Nonetheless, T1 currently sits at 3rd place in the rankings. With the forthcoming opponents, only G2 and RNG pose significant threats, leaving Faker and the team well-positioned for a top 4 finish. Furthermore, if their morale rebounds, there's every indication that T1 will overcome adversity and forge success in this edition of MSI 2022.
