There are plenty of indications that PUBG Part II will soon make its appearance in the not-so-distant future.
Although it has declined sharply compared to its peak at launch, PUBG remains one of the most successful games in history. Not only did it lay the groundwork and usher in a golden era for the Battle Royale trend with heavy hitters like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and later Call of Duty: Warzone following suit, but PUBG also set a record by selling 75 million copies before officially transitioning to free-to-play this year.

However, that was the glory of the past. Presently, rampant cheating and hacking, lack of exciting updates, and somewhat outdated gameplay have led PUBG to periods even labeled as a 'dead game' by the online community. Many believe that the only way to save PUBG is to release its sequel.

Recently, there has been much speculation about the expansion of the PUBG brand. Although Brendan Greene - often regarded as the father of PUBG - is unlikely to participate in the development of the next installment due to his busy schedule with his own project named Prologue, this seemingly cannot stop the release of PUBG Part II. In 2021, Kim Chang-han, CEO of Krafton, hinted to fans that in the future, there will be two new games set in the PUBG universe. One of them has already been released under the title PUBG: New State, while the other project remains shrouded in mystery.

According to some sources, the second project seems to be named The Callisto Protocol - a name revealed by Krafton at The Game Awards 2020. The game appears to be set in the future, centuries away from the current era, and fans are eagerly anticipating how The Callisto Protocol will connect with the PUBG storyline. However, according to some information, the initial PUBG II project, initially named Project RE: BORN, was scrapped due to various complications.

Nevertheless, this doesn't diminish the high expectations from PUBG fans. In the latest development, a project named Titan has been discovered in Krafton's IPO documents, and news outlets have reported that PUBG Corporation is hiring many employees for the development of the latest AAA blockbuster, which is highly likely to be PUBG II. While many details are still unconfirmed, PUBG fans are already extremely excited about the future prospects.
