It's unbelievable how swiftly Knight and Top Esports have declined after winning the Demacia Cup 2021.
Before the Spring 2022 LPL commenced, Top Esports garnered immense praise from experts. Their impressive performance at the Demacia Cup 2021 with a revamped roster showcased their potential as a top-tier team in the LPL. Some even optimistically ranked TES just below the reigning world champions, EDward Gaming, before the start of the Spring 2022 LPL.

However, Top Esports' performance in the first two weeks of the LPL has been disappointing, considering the talent they possess. Despite a 2-2 record, TES only found success against weaker teams like Ultra Prime and Team WE. When facing tougher opponents like Rare Atom or Victory Five, TES exposed numerous weaknesses in their strategic execution and suffered defeats.
For instance, their recent loss to Victory Five highlighted significant flaws in TES's teamfight coordination and individual skills. Observing TES's approach to teamfights, it's evident that the synergy among team members is lacking. Divergent target selection during engagements leads to insufficient damage output, which is a recurring issue for TES.

Moreover, the weak link known as Zhuo hasn't shown improvement, causing Top Esports to encounter several combat-related issues. Meanwhile, TES's biggest star, Knight, delivered a subpar performance against Rookie on the opposing front line. While Rookie is no novice in the mid lane, Knight's lackluster display at a crucial moment for his team is difficult to overlook. Consequently, Knight became the focal point of criticism following the match.

With Top Esports' current form, it's incredibly challenging for them to seize the opportunity to climb to the top. If they continue to perform poorly like they did in the recent match against V5, slipping down the bottom half of the standings is entirely plausible for TES. Perhaps this team needs a serious and earnest overhaul in their playing style during the upcoming Lunar New Year break if they aim to compete for a playoff spot.
