Operations with Smartwatches
Some of the most fundamental operations when using smartwatches that you should know will be summarized in the following content.
- Starting up your smartwatch
To begin experiencing the features of a smartwatch, you first need to start up the device. Most smartwatches have a mechanical press button on the bottom or right side of the device. Here, users simply need to press and hold for 3-5 seconds to light up the screen, with some models also accompanied by a startup melody.
- Installing SIM Card and Memory Card for Smartwatches
For smartwatches that support SIM card and memory card slots, they are usually located on the back of the device. Pay attention to the corners of the smartwatch to find the slot cover and make it easier to open.

Next, you remove the smartwatch battery and you will see the SIM card and memory card slots if available.
Similar to inserting SIM cards and memory cards for phones, the steps for smartwatches are almost the same. Users gently insert the SIM card and memory card into the slot in the direction indicated as Open. When you hear a click, it means the SIM card and memory card are correctly placed.
Note that smartwatches support various types of SIM cards, such as Nano SIM or eSIM, so you also need to consider the size before inserting them.
- Setting Language for Smartwatches
When choosing the language for your smartwatch, users can navigate to the settings and follow the sequence to find the submenu “Language” (displayed in English as Language). Then, the languages supported by the device will be arranged alphabetically to make it easier for you to search.
If your smartwatch doesn't have Vietnamese, you can choose the language that you are most proficient in among them. Usually, English is the easiest to imagine and use.

- Connecting Smartwatch to Smartphone
Connecting with a smartphone will help you explore many features of your smartwatch. To connect, you download an app compatible with your smartwatch to your smartphone. This will be mentioned in the user manual when you purchase the smartwatch.

In the app interface, we select the device to connect after enabling Bluetooth for both the smartwatch and smartphone.
Notes when Using Smartwatches
During the use of smartwatches, it's essential to pay attention to a few points to ensure the device remains durable and attractive:
- Firstly, when wearing a smartwatch, avoid strong impacts, especially with cheaper smartwatch models, as the 'fatality rate' tends to be higher
- After each day of use, you can carefully wipe the smartwatch with a dry cloth to reduce dust and grime, helping your smartwatch stay bright and attractive
- You should know about the water resistance rating of the smartwatch worn on your wrist and still limit exposure to water environments as much as possible to minimize the risk of failure. Remember that when your smartwatch has been dropped or bumped, its water resistance feature may be compromised or lost entirely
- The Always On Display mode consumes quite a bit of energy, so if not necessary, you can turn off this feature to save battery for other purposes
With usage instructions and notes about smartwatches, hopefully, you will have the best experience with your wearable device.
