Starting from 5 PM is the perfect time to set up camp at Tây Beach, an ideal spot for both sunset and sunrise views.
Detailed itinerary for a day of camping on Little Lý Sơn Island when visiting Lý Sơn tourism

The ferry bridge to Little Lý Sơn has electric vehicles to transport tourists to the island.
Little Lý Sơn Island (also known as An Bình Island), part of the Lý Sơn archipelago, lies about 3 km from the main island and is an unmissable destination when traveling to Lý Sơn. The island is, in fact, a volcano from millions of years ago, with around 100 households residing there. Most tourists visiting Lý Sơn explore the small island in a day, as not many stay due to limited services. However, if you have more time, spend at least one night here camping. The feeling of camping, watching the sunset on the island, gazing at the starry sky amidst the sea, and the radiant beauty when the sun rises is always one of the most wonderful experiences.
From the main island, you can purchase ferry tickets to the small island at the port, priced at 40,000 VND/person for a one-way trip. The ferry operates from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. From the small island's port, you can traverse the island to reach Tây Beach, the most beautiful beach here. Upon arrival at the port, electric cars from the establishments on Tây Beach are ready and waiting. You can rent an electric car for a round trip around the island at 30,000 VND/person.
The small island lacks natural freshwater, and there is no national power grid, so everything is more expensive. To prepare for camping, it's advisable to buy seafood at the port early in the morning when the fishermen return, as it will be cheaper and fresher. Otherwise, you can buy on the small island. The Tây Beach area now has a row of eateries serving food. You can order food here for them to prepare or cook it yourself. Freshwater is filtered from seawater, so water here is relatively expensive, around 20,000 VND/bucket for bathing.

Camping at Tây Beach on the small island will be absolutely fantastic.
Tây Beach always tops the list of favorite beaches for visitors to the little island. The fine white sandy beach offers clear visibility to the bottom, and adjacent to it is a coral reef. Tourists can snorkel here using a coracle boat, priced at 60,000 VND/person for a 2-hour session. Each coracle can carry about 6 people (including the boat rower). The snorkeling area is approximately 300 meters from Tây Beach. You can use the snorkeling service in the morning upon arrival.
The coracle will gently take you across the sea, passing through crystal-clear water areas, allowing a glimpse of the seabed. The boat rower will provide each person with a snorkeling mask and a life jacket. For those who can't swim, there's no need to worry; just bow your head close to the sea surface, look down through the snorkeling mask, and you can see the coral reef.
After admiring the coral reef, head back to the eatery for lunch and rest. Around 3-4 PM is the time for taking photos on the island. After that, you can swim at Tây Beach, where the beach is shallow and clear, perfect for both swimming and snorkeling to observe fish or jellyfish. This time is ideal for swimming as most tourists have returned to the main island, leaving only those camping overnight on the small island, so you can freely take photos and swim without any crowds.
Around 5 PM is the time to set up camp; it's advisable to bring a tent from home. The ideal camping spot is about 150 meters from the eatery, quiet and fairly flat, surrounded by the beach, with bushes behind. A wonderful place to enjoy both the sunset and sunrise. After setting up the tent and gathering firewood, start preparing dinner. Although the food prices are high due to transportation from the main island, the locals here are honest and helpful, providing thorough assistance to tourists with a variety of seafood, beer, soft drinks, paper towels, ice... You can have coconut water for 30,000 VND/coconut, beer for 17,000 VND/can, instant coffee for 7,000 VND/pack...

A cup of coffee at sunrise is truly magnificent.
For those who love capturing illuminated scenes, the nighttime here provides an ideal setting. A star-filled sky unaffected by artificial lights will give you dazzling photographs. Alternatively, wake up at 5 AM the next day, take photos, brew coffee, and sit back to watch the sunrise. Enjoying coffee and witnessing the sunrise over the sea is an incredibly delightful experience. Sitting on the volcanic rock formations with the vast ocean in front is genuinely awe-inspiring, an unforgettable memory for anyone. Once the sun is high, pack up the tent, clean up the trash, and return to the main island.
