Phú Quý Island revisited Phan Thiet; this time, I opted for the Superdong ferry at 350k VND. The 8 AM departure suited me perfectly. No need to pre-book tickets. I found this ferry more to my liking—smooth sailing and comfortable seats. Just a 2.5-hour nap on the ferry, and I was back on the mainland. Both ferry types provide complimentary bottled water and chilled towels.
While on the island, I rented a semi-automatic scooter from Hoang Phu 2 Hotel at 400k VND for 2 days, plus 30k VND for fuel per scooter. Convenient pick-up and drop-off at the port.

Where to stay? I opted for Hoang Phu Hotel due to its stunning ocean view. Sunrise and sunset are equally breathtaking here. We enjoyed sunrise from the rooftop and caught the sunset from our room. The room rate is 600k VND per day for a twin bed. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful.
What to do in Phú Quý? Vịnh Triều Dương (Triều Dương Bay) is a must-visit spot on Phú Quý Island. Every corner is picturesque, but for the best shots, head closer to the beach.
Exploring Vịnh Triều Dương (Triều Dương Bay): This spot is renowned across Phú Quý Island for its picturesque landscapes. Every angle is Instagram-worthy. For the best shots, venture closer to the shoreline.
Sunrise and Sunset at Khách sạn Hoàng Phú: This hotel boasts stunning ocean views, perfect for catching both sunrise and sunset. Head up to the rooftop for sunrise views or enjoy sunset vistas right from your room. Room rates start at 600k VND per day for a twin bed. The hospitable owners ensure a pleasant stay.
Embark on an Adventure: It's best to explore in the early morning or late afternoon for a refreshing experience. Along the way, you'll encounter picturesque spots perfect for snapping some Insta-worthy shots.
Little Beach - Hang Cliff - Infinity Pool: Keep heading straight past the flagpole and take the last right turn. The path flanked by cliffs leads to this hidden gem. Remember to wear comfortable attire if you plan to descend to the infinity pool. Access involves a bit of climbing on slippery rocks, so choose your footwear wisely and proceed with caution. Midday is ideal for the shimmering sunlight.

Master's Tomb - Village Fish Pond: Here lies the 'window to escape the world.' Venture around the back of the Master's Tomb to discover it. Optimal times to visit are early morning or around 4 PM when the sunlight is gentle. Apart from the window, there are rocky outcrops offering stunning ocean views.

Cao Cat Mountain: Dubbed the island's highest point, offering panoramic views. Ride your bike up to the temple below, then climb approximately 100 steps to reach the summit.

Mirror Rock: The sea here is crystal clear (a characteristic of Phu Quy's coastline). I booked a tour for 250k VND per person, which takes about 10 minutes to reach the island. Departing by canoe at 7 AM ensures fewer crowds. Spend time on the island, taking photos and swimming until around 10 AM when the canoe returns to pick you up. They also offer a trip to the coral reef dive site. Payment is settled directly with the canoe owner upon return.

Esplanade: Phu Quy Island boasts numerous esplanades, so feel free to explore any you come across for photo ops. It's also a romantic spot to catch a beautiful sunset.

Where to Eat?
I'll just list a few eateries I tried without going into too much detail.
- Hai Tham Eatery
- Buoy's Bistro (slightly pricier than Hai Tham by 5-10k)
- Old Man's Diner (serving rich and spicy dishes)
- Lucky Fortune Restaurant
- 1995 Bubble Tea
Important Note:
- Pack plenty of clothes and apply sunscreen diligently as the island can be very sunny.
- Wear comfortable sandals or shoes as climbing can be exhausting.
The total cost of the trip is around 2.5 million VND, including food and entertainment. Truly, Phu Quy Island is a must-visit destination in a lifetime. The island remains pristine, so please remember to leave nothing but footprints, memories, and beautiful photographs, while also maintaining environmental cleanliness.
