Detailed Review of a 5D4N Cambodia Journey - 'As Easy as a Trip to Dalat'
As the closest neighbor to Vietnam, the kingdom of Cambodia – a land famous for its beautiful and majestic temples – sparked my curiosity, prompting me to embark on a fascinating journey in this charming and familiar country.

– Opt for air travel if you want to shorten your time; however, be prepared for potentially expensive flight tickets from Saigon to Phnom Penh due to limited flights.
– When traveling from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, you can book a car through your hotel, with prices ranging from $10 per person per trip for a 6-hour journey.
Accommodation: For this journey, I'll be exploring Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, opting for different hotels/resorts at each location!
The hotels in Phnom Penh where I'll be staying:
– Mad Monkey Hostel, priced around $25/day for 2 people. However, be aware that it can be noisy due to many backpackers. If you prefer tranquility, you might want to consider other options. On the plus side, it's budget-friendly and close to the city center.
– La Chronique Hotel, with rates ranging from $40-45/day for 2 people. This place is centrally located, offering cozy and stylish Indochine-themed rooms, although they tend to be a bit on the smaller side.

– The Khmer House, approximately $35/day. This place is cool and refreshing with lots of greenery. The rooms are beautiful, and there are even 2 pools for your Instagram-worthy moments. Keep in mind it's a bit far from the city center, though.
– Mane Family Vacation, resembling a 5-star standard resort with prices starting from $120/room depending on the room type.

– Phnom Penh is now a modern and bustling city, comparable to Saigon, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur. Skyscrapers adorn the skyline, and the streets are vibrant with bustling traffic and establishments.
– Points of interest include Independence Monument, Silver Pagoda, Royal Palace of Cambodia, Phnom Penh Square, Naga World casino, new central market, Orussey market, Phnom Penh night market, and more.
– When in Siem Reap, you must explore the famous Angkor Wat complex, one of the world's majestic wonders. The Angkor Wat complex showcases distinct Khmer architecture. For stunning photos, visit early in the morning and wear bright colors for truly captivating shots. The entrance fee is $37/person for a 2-day pass covering the entire Angkor complex (in addition to Angkor Wat, there's Angkor Thom and numerous temples throughout the vast area). I recommend visiting three beautiful temples in a single day as each temple is extensive and spaced apart.
– Getting around the city: You can use Passapp to book taxis or tuk-tuks for city transport (remember to negotiate the fare).

– Cambodian cuisine shares similarities with the culinary delights of Vietnam's Mekong Delta, although the variety is not as extensive. Must-try dishes include prahok (fermented fish paste), amok steamed fish, Khmer red curry, curry noodles, lort cha, grilled skewers, and more.
The total cost for this Cambodia journey is approximately $7,000 (note: it's advisable to use US dollars and exchange a small amount into Cambodian currency for convenience).
