In Excel, when you enter content into a cell and then input content below it that shares initial characters with the content in the cell above, the content from the cell above will be suggested below, which can often be annoying.

This article below will guide you on how to turn off the character recall feature when typing letters in Excel.
Step 1: Open the Excel file you want to disable the function for, select File -> Options.

Step 2: In the Excel Options dialog, choose the Advanced tab.

Step 3: In the Editing options section, uncheck the box next to Enable AutoComplete for cell values and then press OK.

This turns off the character recall feature. To turn it back on, simply perform the same steps and check the box next to Enable AutoComplete for cell values.
