II. Sample Essay on Excellence in Learning and Diligent Work (Standard)
For every nation, it can be said that the young generation is the source of vitality, the future of that country. Uncle Ho, a great revolutionary figure, the revered leader of the Vietnamese nation, deeply loves and cares for the young generation, especially the children and teenagers. Uncle Ho taught the youth 5 things to become the future leaders of the country, one of the 5 things that Vietnamese children always remember is the teaching: 'Excellence in Learning, Diligent Work.'
What does this teaching mean? Everyone understands that 'Excellence in Learning' is actively absorbing knowledge, broadening one's understanding in both the classroom and life. Furthermore, excelling in learning means diligently completing all the learning tasks that teachers guide and assign to students. Excelling in learning also involves enhancing the spirit of self-learning, constantly seeking knowledge and creativity, everywhere, all the time. 'Diligent Work' is about being diligent in one's tasks. The work of young age may not be significant, but we need to start with small, useful tasks. Diligent work not only brings benefits to life but also develops qualities of diligence and responsibility from a very young age; only with a love for labor can we achieve fulfillment and happiness.
Uncle Ho's teachings are extremely accurate and valuable for the generations of children and teenagers. Because childhood is the time for learning and self-improvement. The learning process of each individual is not only the process of nurturing scientific and social knowledge but also the process of discovering new things, exploring oneself, and continually improving. Thus, 'Excellence in Learning' helps individuals achieve success, find the right direction for their lives. In the ancient stories of our nation, the ancients mentioned the example of Mac Dinh Chi, a poor child who studied hard and overcame all difficulties to excel in learning. In the end, from a buffalo herder boy, he became a renowned scholar in Vietnam. The example of the scholar demonstrates that only through learning can a person rise up and change their destiny. Teacher Nguyen Ngoc Ky is another example: born with paralyzed hands, the future seemed closed in front of him. However, the spirit of continuous learning, determination to reach the horizon of knowledge helped the teacher graduate from university, become a writer, and educator, setting an example for the younger generation to admire and follow the path of continuous learning.
In addition to excelling in learning, young age also needs to know 'Diligent Work'; don't think that adolescence is just for studying and playing. Uncle Ho once taught that: 'In young age, do small tasks according to your strength.' Our labor not only helps our grandparents and parents reduce their workload or contributes to the beauty and cleanliness of our school but also serves as a way to cultivate life skills and build good character. A young person who understands the importance of labor from an early age will, when they grow up, undoubtedly become an active citizen working to build their homeland. The good work of young students includes doing household chores, maintaining school cleanliness, and participating in social activities within their capabilities. At that time, our childhood becomes even more beautiful and meaningful.
