The Flower Road, the Pine Tree Lane, or the Wild Sunflower Road... These are the preferred photo spots for many young travelers exploring Tây Nguyên.
Embark on a Tây Nguyên journey and capture the beauty of 4 roads reminiscent of Korean drama landscapes.
1. The Path to Kon Tum Cathedral
Kon Tum Cathedral, situated on Tran Hung Dao Street, TP Kon Tum, also known as the 'Kon Tum Apostolic Vicariate,' showcases a distinctive architectural blend of Western and traditional indigenous styles, creating a unique ambiance. If you have an interest in history and culture, this is a must-visit destination in Tây Nguyên. Additionally, the first-time visitors are captivated by the enduring charm of the long-standing lily flower beds emitting a subtle fragrance at the entrance. To ward off diseases, the porcelain roots are coated with white lime. When the leaves haven't fallen, the trees provide refreshing shade, and during the blooming season, this stretch of road becomes vibrant with the deep pink hue of lilies, standing out against the clear blue sky.
2. The Ascent to Chư Đăng Ya Volcano
Approximately 30 km northeast of Pleiku city lies the wild sunflower hill at Chư Đăng Ya volcano – a dormant mountain that has peacefully slept for millions of years. It's a favorite spot for adventure seekers visiting Pleiku, especially from November onward when the wild sunflowers bloom along the road at the volcano's base, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Compared to other places, the wild sunflowers in Chư Đăng Ya bloom later but linger in their beauty. In the last days of the year, you can ride a motorcycle through clusters of intensely fragrant sunflowers, capturing myriad photos in the dreamy golden sea.
3. The Road Around Gia Lai Tea Hill
Gia Lai Tea Hill, located along the Northern Sea Lake about 13 km from Pleiku's city center in Chư Păh district, Gia Lai province, may not be as famous as tea hills in Northern Vietnam. However, its refreshing green scenery, tree-lined road around the tea hill, and the pine tree lane leading to the Northern Sea Lake have won the hearts of many visitors. You can leisurely ride a bike amidst straight rows of pine trees on both sides of the road, savoring the fresh, cool air of the highland. At the road's end are three stone steps leading to a house in the middle of the lake, providing a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.
4. The Ascent to Măng Đen – Kon Tum
Măng Đen town, situated in Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province, is known as the land of 'seven lakes, three waterfalls' due to its 7 lakes: Toong Ly Leng, Toong Ziu, Toong Zơ Ri, Toong Săng, Toong Pô, Toong Đam, Đak Ke, and 3 waterfalls: Pa Sỹ, Đak Ke, Đak Pne. This creates a cool and fresh atmosphere, making it an ideal retreat for those from the South. Many young adventure enthusiasts are drawn to the idea of riding a motorcycle to Măng Đen instead of driving a car. You can leisurely stop in the middle of the deserted road, traverse through the rubber tree forest, and capture beautiful photos reminiscent of American movie posters.
