The refrigerator is a common household item, serving not only as a storage space for food but also for preserving leftovers. Thus, dealing with dirt, unpleasant odors, or harmful bacteria is inevitable.
However, cleaning the fridge is hardly a favorite task for many women due to its numerous steps, time-consuming nature, and effort required. Fear not! This article will be a lifesaver as with just 4 basic steps below, all dirt and odors will vanish instantly.

1. A swift and thorough method for cleaning your fridge
Firstly, remember to unplug the fridge's power cord from the electrical outlet to ensure safety while cleaning without the risk of electric shock. Then proceed with the following 4 steps:
Step 1: Remove all shelves, trays inside the fridge, and the ice maker outside. Then use a clean damp cloth to wipe, scrub clean the plastic trays just removed and air dry them in a cool, airy place.
Avoid direct sunlight exposure to prevent the trays from becoming brittle, cracked, or cracked.
Step 2: Use a dry cloth to clean the inside of the fridge, paying attention to the lower parts of the fridge, which are usually dirtier in different spots, so you need to wipe more carefully.

Avoid cleaning the fridge with a wet cloth, as this will spread the dirt more.
Step 3: Use dish soap or mix baking soda with warm water. Use a sponge/clean cloth to apply the mixture to the entire surface inside the fridge and also the rubber edges around the door.
For small crevices or edges, use a small brush to quickly scrub away dirt. After finishing, use a damp cloth to wipe everything clean with water.
Step 4: Place the dried plastic shelves back into the fridge as usual. Then stack food, items that need to be stored in the fridge as usual, and you're done.

2. Important notes to remember when cleaning the refrigerator
To ensure your safety, avoid damaging the appliance, before cleaning the refrigerator, remember the following notes:
- Do not use sharp objects like knives, scissors... to pry off stuck ice on the surface of the refrigerator. Sharp objects, if not used carefully, can easily puncture the evaporator.
At this point, the refrigerant gas will follow the puncture and escape, causing the cold air in the ice compartment to be insufficient for freezing, affecting the food storage compartment.
- When cleaning, only use diluted dish soap/soap or you can use alternatives such as lemon, coffee, baking soda...

- To maintain the paint color of the refrigerator, avoid using strong cleaning agents such as bleach, chemicals, gasoline, oil... or brushes that can easily fade, scratch the refrigerator's paint.
- Do not use hot water to avoid cracking, deforming the refrigerator's shelves.
- Do not let the refrigerator become too wet, wipe off the moisture with soft sponges or absorbent dry cloth to prevent water from seeping into electrical components and causing electric shocks.
